  • Monsters updated with new tricks to keep players on their toes.
    • Rarely, psionic heavy hitters deal half damage on a miss.
    • Rarely, martial warriors have a reaction to reduce a condition on them by 1 round.
    • Rarely, certain creatures begin ignoring all maluses and disadvantage to attack rolls and skill checks at half HP or less.
    • Rarely, support casters can remove conditions from allies, though never themselves.
    • Rarely, angry monsters are Empowered while afflicted with negative conditions.
    • Very rarely, certain creatures have a second minor action per turn, or very, very rarely, a second reaction per round as well.

1/18/21

  • Adversaries added.

12/20/20

  • Among the major changes:
    • Damage and hit points changed across the board.
      • Damage values significantly lowered.
      • Hit points reduced for some of the higher CR creatures.
    • Tier 1 creatures had their defenses lowered by 4, tier 2 creatures had their defenses lowered by 2.
      • This addresses concerns that the monsters were too difficult to hit at the outset, before alchemy and Steps could start accumulating.
    • 35 new monsters added.
      • Underlings got their T5 monsters: Lich Queen, Milesian, Dagon, Ashina, Siren, Balor, Serket, Golem, Teeming Rot, Furies, Kraken, Fomorian, Primal, Phoenix.
      • Carapacians got: Stag, Kirin, Hiashatar, Padah, Goose, Andemach, Pao, Half-duck, Lance, Lama, Congo, Hawk, Unicorn, Erzkanzler, Fortress, Jetan, Mastodon, Vao, Huygens, Gryphon, Quight.
    • Dice values removed from damage and grist drops.
      • Removing variable damage speeds up strifes and also sets concrete numbers with which players can work around when making builds.
      • Removing grist works similarly.

11/8/20

  • Among the major changes:
    • Stat blocks revamped to be more easily legible and sheet-compatible for future integration into SM sheet.
      • Skill bonuses derive directly from the stat bonus in question.
      • Damage ranges replaced with singular base damage from which damage mods are added or subtracted.
      • Tactics section added for optimal combat behavior.
      • Hordes and Swarms reworked to be less complex.
      • Anatomy system simplified where tools and focii were concerned, with new Opening secret added.
    • 24 new monsters added or returned from 2nd Edition.
      • Vaardic, Vitrea, Culverin, Greater Lich, Headhunter, Astral, Meister, Frost make a return from 2nd Edition.
      • Greater Hive Drone, Greater Mimic, Arcanist, Interval, Measure, Mongoose, Broodlord, Pestilence, Diabolist, Hydra, Temptress, Hiashatar, Andernach, Greater Rook, Spider, Vanguard are new creatures.
      • Lesser CR creatures have had their movesets simplified, while higher CR creatures have had their movesets rewritten with greater integration with base Primer abilities in mind.
        • On that note, the bulk of the newly added creatures are CR 3 due to their relative lack compared to CRs 1 or 2. This is actually the main reason for Tier 5 Underlings not being completed yet, the CR 3 creatures for that tier are not yet finished.
    • Combat rating (CR) revamped to be far simpler such that no number goes beyond 5.
  • Created.
